Communication is how we replacement information to one another. What sets us apart from other species in our planet is that we have a higher level of transportation skills. By studying how to speak we can carry our feelings and our thoughts.

Aside from the potential to speak, we can also enumerate through gestures. Humans, having industrialized the potential to enumerate both through speech and gestures, were able to dominate this planet. Because of our insatiable appetite for information, humans throughout our existence industrialized other forms of communication, from writing to telecommunications.

Telecommunication is the assisted transmission over a length for the purpose of communication. In earlier times, this may have complex the use of smoke signals, drums, semaphore, flags or heliograph (source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunication).




Today, telecommunications is the technology to send information over long distances via electronic means. Contemporary technology has given us the potential to enumerate over the telephone and the internet.

Try searching the internet, and you will learn that the first practical telegraph was invented by Samuel Morse sometime in the 1830s. The telephone was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. Dr. Martin Cooper invented the technology responsible for the cellphone. He made the first cellphone call in 1973. Internet, as we know it today, only became beloved in the mid 1990s.

Billions of information criss-cross the internet everyday. E-mails are being sent as we read this article. Some of the information written here were even searched over the the internet. It has come to be the fastest growing media of sharing information.

The internet together with the advancement in mobile communications has catapulted us in the Digital Age. The telephone, probably one of the many achievements of man in communicating, has evolved. Whereas before its infrastructure is a standalone web of hardwires, it is moderately being supplanted by telephones over the internet, using voice over internet protocol (VoIp) technology. The internet and the mobile world is being merged.

Mobile phone technology has also embraced the Digital Age. Contemporary technology has given us the potential to access our e-mails via mobile phones. We can also associate to the internet with our mobile phones. It has given us the potential to get in touch in any place in the world, either via voice communication, text messaging, or video calls.

Our homes are also starting to change. Before we only have fixed phones, now broadband internet assistance is becoming coarse in a household. Wireless internet access is also becoming popular. Our homes are being transformed into a wifi zone. With the cost of owning computers going down, it is not uncommon for a particular household to own any desktop, laptop, or netbook computers.

Commercial wifi zones are also expanding. in any place we go, from coffee shops to malls, wifi access logo can be seen. With the sale of netbook computers increasing, more wifi zones will be developed. We can access information in any place we go using our computers and mobile phones. We can enumerate in any place as long as there is internet access or mobile phone signals which is roughly anywhere. The world is indeed shrinking because a lot of population are being connected every second.

The Digital Age is a opinion connected to the information Age. We live in an era where information is precious. An era wherein access and replacement of great amount of information is vital. information is being transferred at an unprecedented amount. Even hospitals are production use of the technology we have now that they can replacement large files of curative images in any place in the world. Online transactions are becoming coarse such as banking and shopping. These will not be inherent without digital technology.

We have come a long way in terms of communication. From using our natural potential to speak, to Contemporary telecommunication technologies, we all have one thing in common, the desire to be all the time connected.
